THE #908 QUEEN OF HEARTS RAFFLE (OFFICIAL RULES)

A numbered and sealed game board, purchased from a certified gaming vendor, will be on display in a secured case in the Woburn-Stoneham #908 Member’s Lounge. Each game board contains 54 numbered slots representing a standard deck of playing cards plus 2 Jokers.  Members purchase tickets each week to enter a drawing where, if their ticket is selected, they choose a number to guess the location of the Queen of Hearts.  If in any week the Queen of Hearts is not located, that week’s drawing tickets are discarded, the jackpot carries over and a new weekly drawing begins.  This occurs each week until the Queen of Hearts is located.  Other prizes are included in this raffle as outlined below.

*GOOD STANDING = #908 Member must have dues paid-up and have a valid Woburn-Stoneham #908 Member Card to win.

Prizes of $600 and over will be paid by check and the winner will be issued a W2-G (1099).

The winner will be required to present valid means of identification and paid-up membership card before receiving payment.

**Published Jackpot amount is after 5% tax deduction & 10% club deduction.

#908 HOUSE RULES

  • There must be at least one #908 Member Name on each ticket. Each ticket should also include the number from game board where you suspect the Queen of Hearts is located.
    • Any individual listed on ticket not in GOOD STANDING* will not be included in disbursement of prize.
    • Any ILLEGIBLE ticket will be discarded at the discretion of the House Committee member(s) present for the drawing.
    • Any NICKNAMES not recognized by House Committee member(s) present or accompanied by a member number may be disqualified at the discretion of the House Committee member(s) present for the drawing.
    • Any BENT OR MUTILATED tickets may be disqualified at the discretion of the House Committee member(s) present for the drawing.
    • GROUP ticket purchases: Any members whose names appear on the ticket must be present to receive the maximum payout. Not all Group members must be listed but payouts will only be made to 908 members in GOOD STANDING*.

 

  • It will be the discretion of the House Committee as to whether the weekly drawing is postponed or delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. Changes to the schedule will be communicated by email to the membership.
  • The following applies for tickets drawn with missing or invalid game board number (previously chosen):
